Red Tails executive producer GEORGE LUCAS, on why it took more than two decades for his latest film to hit movie theatres, on The Daily Show.
For shame, Hollywood.

This pretty much tells me that Danny Glover’s Haiti Revolution movie is never getting made…….I can’t.

Hollywood, forever finding new and interesting ways to disappoint me.

Seriously, if George motherfucking Lucas can only barely manage it…

Please note, that though I have heard it through you all and a few friends, I have not seen one television spot for Red-Tails!
This is Hollywood.

White films are seen as universal, universally relevant which will accrue the most money worldwide. This is why constantly, Asian movies are snatched, for example, get picked up and recasted completely with an all white cast or the protagonist is changed to white. Because of ethnocentric and racist-drenched notions or tastes for ‘white as normative,’ most non-white films will get deemed as ‘too ethnic’ aka not white ’normal,’ unable for audiences to relate, etc. Nonwhite films will get viewed as forms of the mythical reverse racism … all of this boiling down to $ because racism doesn’t sleep by itself, it sleeps with cash and other things… The primary way to make money off of black & other nonwhite folk is if there is some stereotype for those nonwhite folk in a primarily white movie to play that help reify what was already thought about the groups those nonwhites ‘represent.’ It’s crazy …
Saw the trailer. Really want to see.
